It gathers all the exhaust gases created by the engine and directs them into the exhaust pipe. A Saturn typical header pipe is made from cast iron material, although some high performance header pipe designs make utilize of tubular steel or lighter-weight aluminum material for their assembly.

The design of the Saturn header pipe comes in different variations, depending on the engine where header pipe will be used. Vehicles with linear engines are equipped with a single header pipe while those with V-shaped engines are equipped with two header pipe, one mounted to each cylinder head.
Many people don't realize the importance of proper header selection. The truth is, pipes are not just pipes. Their sizing, arrangement, relationship to engine size and rpm and the ability to function as a tuning tool are all critical and important factors.

Can someone go into detail which exhaust is better? I was looking at the greddy evo 2 and the apexi n1. I live in california and have heard from some people that cops are bad about loud exhausts. The n1 comes with a silencer while the evo 2 does. people have told me that the evo 2 has a nice tone / is quiet when driving normal but if you get on the car it sounds like a beast. I can get an evo 2 off someone on a prelude forum for $300 (its used but in mint condition) while the apexi is about $450 brand new. someone help me out here!
and if ur curious this is what i have so far on my car: aem v2 intake, neuspeed front strut bar, some random rear sway bar, dc sports stainless steel header, and just recently purchased some high performance tires. thx....
People have mentioned that the evo2 has a raspy sound to it and that the apexi n1 is better quality.

It's so nice! I use to have it on my Integra! And a N1... just sounds like crap! Not so powerful as the Greddy EVo2 sound! and plus.. The EVo2 is not loud... Well it is... but if you don't step on the gas pedal that hard then it won't sound that loud!
