Fiberglass is a product that has found many uses in the world today. Its many applications are because of the fact that fibreglass is stronger than glass and heavier than plastic. It even matches the strength of steel. It consists of fibers of glass and plastic combination. This being the case, you will find that it is heavier than the other types of plastic and glass. As a result, it is usually preferred in the manufacture of certain products. One could use it in a similar manner as he or she uses plastic and glass. However, the applications that use fiberglass will vary due to their properties and attributes. One such application involving use of this material is the manufacture of fiberglass tanks.
Normally, tanks feature plastic, metal and concrete materials. In the present day however, one can find hardwearing styles made of fibreglass. A fibreglass tank is style that could match domestic and commercial needs. The first use a person could have for a reservoir made of glass fiber is the storage of chemicals. Chemicals have some corrosive qualities. This being the case, they certainly require special storage structures. A fibreglass cistern is perfect because it can resist corrosion. On the other hand, metal tanks corrode easily and therefore cannot store chemicals well. In order for the chemicals to last in the reservoir for a long time, the material preferred for this is certainly fiberglass. This is because fiberglass tanks have a lower chance of reacting with the chemicals than other types do.
Another use of these cisterns is storage of water. In some areas, you will find that there is scarcity of water. This is the case especially in the third world countries. As a result, residents of such countries mainly depend on rainwater and river water. Even in civilized countries, water is a valuable resource. There are campaigns everywhere in the globe to conserve water. Storing water in a special container made of glass fibers is one way of conserving it. With these, one does not have to buy materials for construction. He or she could purchase a ready item, which is impossible with concrete cisterns. Fibreglass is capable of withstanding harsh weather conditions for many years.
They are also capable of being more resistant to factors that cause wear and tear. In most cases, harsh weather conditions will cause the weakening of boilers made of metal or plastic. Other uses of the tanks will be to hold liquids, which are highly corrosive. These can be in the form of acids. Acids are generally highly corrosive. This means that they have to remain in tight containers that are rust resistant. A reservoir made of fiberglass can be a good item to store such types of substances. To be sincere, the uses of fiberglass tanks are more than the uses of the other types of tanks. This is the reason why they are becoming more popular by the day. Anyone who is looking to buy this item should certainly consider these styles. To see how they look like, simply use the Internet. Shoud You Consider a Whole House Humidifier?
If you use a humidifier regularly but you are tired of continually filling the tank on your portable humidifier, or if you are tired of replacing them after a couple of years of use it may be time to consider a whole house humidifier. A whole house humidifier typically runs with your HVAC and plumbing systems to help keep your air at an optimum humidity level. There are a few different types available.
Drum Whole House Humidifiers
Drum humidifiers are often one of the less expensive types of whole house humidifiers. They get their name because they have a frame that is drum-shaped. This frame is connected to a belt that rotates the humidifier pad through the reservior of water at the bottm of the drum. The heating system then collects and sends the moisture throughout the house via the vents.
With this type of system it is important to clean the reservior regularly to prevent mold from growing. You will also need to check and replace the humidifier pads periodically. But overall this system is fairly inexpensive to maintain.
Bypass Whole House Humidifiers
Bypass humidifiers use an aluminum pad, sometimes called a biscuit. Water is sprayed onto this pad when the hygrostat determines it is time for more humidity, the warm air passes through the pad and carries the moisture into the home.
This type of home humidifier requires less maintenance and offers less of a chance for mold growth, but it is more expensive to purchase.
Spray Mist Whole House Humidifiers
Spray, or spray mist, humidifiers use an electronic mister to mist water directly into the air duct while the heating system is turned on.
Because there is no reservoir there isn't much of a mold concern with this style of humidifier and it shouldn't require too much maintenance. The spray nozzle can get clogged over time so it will need to be cleaned periodically, how often will depend on your the mineral content in your water.
Console Whole House Humidifiers
Console humidifiers are one other option. These systems are not connected to your HVAC and plumbing like the other options listed. They are somewhat like a glorified portable humidifier as they need to be filled with water and they typically use a humidifier filter that will periodically need to be replaced. But they cover a larger square footage than a portable version and most models have a humidistat so you can monitor the level of humidity in your home.

i have a leak in my coolant system. i found it.. what should i use to patch it?
the hole is in the reservior for my coolant. i tried a patch with fiberglass an silicone and that didnt work at all. it came off in like 20 mins. what i need is something good to patch it with. i need it to last about a month so i can get another tank.
Nothing is going to stick to that plastic for long. If it's a hole, a machine screw with rubber flat washers would be best. If it's a crack, buy a new tank. If you have to patch it, clean it with acetone and use 5 minute epoxy. That stuff is flexible enough not to crack off.
