• You want to change your fuel and air filters regularly to prevent clogging.
• Changing any of the two filters will boost the fuel mileage
• It will increase the engine life

The fuel filter of your auto needs a replacement every two years, which is equivalent to twenty four thousand miles. The procedure of changing the oil filter does not have to be difficult. Unfortunately you cannot avoid it since some technicians will fool you. They will make the task seem too complicated yet it's too simple. The following are simple steps to change an air filter:
• Park your auto under the shade and prop up the hood. Allow engine cooling for a short time.
• Gather your tools. These include tools like two screwdrivers, and a butter knife.
• The biggest black plastic case, approximately the size of a breadbox situated at the center and top part of the engine is the air filter.
• You will find that your car's filter have some big metal clips on the side.
• Using your flat head screwdriver or knife force the clip away. You should slide it between the case and the clip.
• Proceed to the next clips around the case loosening them so you can open the case.
• Once you are done, proceed to the filter shield. This sensitive element is properly hidden. Remove all the screws to remove the shield.
• Then remove the air filter so that you can replace it.
One thing to note is that auto air filters are different. They come in different sizes and shapes. Some older auto versions especially the trucks have a circular shaped filter. The filter is located on the top of the engine in most cars. Air filters come in many colors including whiter, orange, red, earth and vivid yellow. You will notice that a filter is typically flat and long and it is made of a paper element and has rubber boundary. In it in deed need to be replaced, you will see clogged dirt on it. Clean it out before you can bring it to the auto store to find a replacement. The easiest way to find an auto air filter is browsing on the Internet.

Owning a car is almost imperative in today’s’ fast paced world. A car may lend you the right momentum to speed ahead in life; or prove as the reason behind an irreparable hole in your pocket.

An air filter’s basic function is to protect your vehicle’s engine against entering of abrasive elements. In doing so the air filter not only negates any chance of oil contamination but also saves the engine and its associated portions from mechanical wear. The free flow of air inside the engine results in better oxidation and hence an increase in car’s mileage.
While buying an air filter it is always advisable to go for brands like HKS, Trust Greddy, K&N etc. Their dedicated efforts in sustaining in the top of the popularity chart have resulted into several astonishing breakthrough innovations. Be it about the product specialty, after sales services, or value for money - once with these proven leaders, you can rest assured about the certainty of these points.
What to look for during a buy
One should refrain from buying an air filter that emits Ozone gas. While you are in the process of negotiation for buying an air fitter for your car, make sure you look for additional facilities like whistles, change indicator lights and a handle. A change indicator light gives you intimation about replacing your air filter and you really don’t have to land up into hot water when the device stops functioning in the midway of a long journey.
Last but not the least, make it sure that your dealer caters you with a service warranty. If the air filter you buy suffers any damage during its course of action, your dealer should be able to compensate your loss with necessary replacements or mechanical supports.

Is there a "collar" where the tranny filter tube goes in the tranny in a 2004 Impala 3.4?
When changing tranny fluid and filter on my 2004 Impala 3.4l this weekend I realized after all finished that there was a "collar" in the filter kit I had purchased. The replacement filter didn't fit as tight as the factory filter, but did stay in place after install. There was no "collar" on the tube of the factory filter when it came out, so I didn't think to look for anything to slide on the tube of the replacement filter. Do I need to remove replacement filter and slide this "collar" over the tube and reinstall???
yes remove the old Seal from inside the trans body you might yous your finger but an old screwdriver that you can bend to a slight hook to easily remove old Seal take some old trans fluid and put it on the new Seal and install I'm surprised you got the pan to bolt up because it usually wont make sure it goes on easy and don't over tighten pan bolts tighten til you see the gasket bleed out slightly from between the trans and pan hope this helps
