How do you replace an automatic transmission with a high performance 5/6 speed manual on a '78 Corvette?
It is time for the restoration/tweeking of my 78 Corvette to take the next step. I want to rebuild/retool the chevy small block to double its stock 200 hp. I also want to replace the stock 4 speed automatic with a performance 5/6 speed manual transmission. I know about all the work that is involved (or more specifically money, because I won't be doing this myself), but does anyone know of any aftermarket tranny that will fit with little or no modification of the space (outside of cutting in the clutch pedel and adjusting the shifter space) ... fellow Vette guys, please help!!!
