Josh Gollin to compete in British Super 1 Championships with AIM Motorsport

After ending his Junior Max career on a high by taking 3rd place in the last meeting of the British FKS Championship and therefore taking 14th place overall even though he had missed the first 2 rounds, Josh Gollin now feels as though he is ready to move up to Senior Rotax Max for drivers aged 16 years and above. The works AIM Motorsport team driver and Warlingham School pupil is currently preparing for his GCSE examinations at the end of May and June and plans to use his karting career not only to propel him into the world of car racing and eventually to Formula 1 but as a life lesson to improve his exam results.

Having not yet reached 16 Josh is only just old enough to compete in Rotax Max and will face the creme de la creme of British racing talent - rivals with far more experience and far larger budgets, however this will certainly not deter him as he plans to enter the British Super 1 Championship with a bang - the same championship that set Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button on the road to Formula 1 super-stardom. By the end of the year it is more than likely he will be fighting for outright British Championship final wins.

Josh will now be taking part in a limited winter-testing schedule due to lack of funding, but will for certain make the most of it to ensure he is at the front by the time the British Super 1 Championship kicks off on March 12/13th at the Whilton Mill race circuit in Daventry.

As well as competing in the British Super 1 Championship, in August Josh will be competing in the MSA Kart Grand Prix at P.F. International where top drivers from all over the world contest the right to use the 'GP' plate for a year at all kart racing events in Britain, and in September he will be competing in the Rotax Cup at Three Sisters - another big event all the top drivers want to win.

A busy season is ahead for the 15 year old from Kenley, South London. If you are interested in supporting Josh or are interested in his racing please visit his website - www.josh-gollin.co.uk so that he can continue to race at the high level that he does.

Josh will write reports of his racing throughout the year so that you can keep up with his progress and hopefully he will find a sponsor so that he can continue racing and move into Formula Ford after the British Super 1 Championship finishes in mid-October.

About the Author

Josh currently races for AIM Motorsport and in 2011 will be competing in the Senior Rotax class, in the British Super 1 Championship which both Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button competed in and won. In his 3 and a half years of karting the 15 year old from Surrey has won races, set fastest laps, taken pole positions and broken lap records. He is seeking a sponsorship deal so that he can continue racing and move from karts to cars at the end of next year. For more details please visit his website - www.josh-gollin.co.uk
