Here are some more information for Motor Oil Filter:

After 3000 miles or 3 months, most cars that are driven in cities or do hard mileage, like towing or heavy pulling, will need to have their engine oil changed. You can always go to a quick oil change place, but you can save money and learn about basic vehicle maintenance simply by changing your own oil. Follow these steps to ensure that you do it correctly and have all the necessary equipment.
1. As for parts, you will need an engine oil filter that is made for your vehicle, new oil and something to catch the oil in. Depending on the size of your engine and the type of engine it is, you will want to make sure that you have the correct engine oil that is recommended for your vehicle. Most engine oil is either synthetic or not, and most cars do not need to have synthetic oils. Check your owner's manual though to make sure of which you need. There are many options out there for catching the oil, but many stores sell dedicated oil pans that will hold many quarts of used oil. You may also want to invest in a tool that will wrap around your oil filter to allow easier extraction and installation.
2. With your engine heated up - to allow for better flow - jack the vehicle up.
3. Position the oil pan underneath the drain plug. This is a small plug that sticks out from the bottom of the vehicle's oil pan. You will need a ratchet to remove this. Once removed, watch out for the oil that comes out of the bottom.
4. For a faster release of oil, you can also open the oil cap on the top of the engine.
5. After the oil pan has been drained, you can replace the drain plug and go to work removing the old filter. Make sure the oil catch pan is now under where the filter is, as there will be more oil draining from it. Twist the filter to remove and let this oil drain as well.
6. Now start to prep the new filter. This simply means pouring a little bit of new oil into it and spreading some around the top of the filter with your finger so that a better seal is created. Get back under the car, if required, and then put the new filter on. Hand-tighten and then add a little more pressure with an oil filter tool.
7. After that has been done, you can lower the car and measure out the amount of oil that you need. Pour this into the oil reservoir on the top of the engine. Finally, replace the dipstick and check the level of the oil. If all looks good, you are all done. Clean up with some soap or grease cleaner for your hands and put the used oil in a safe place.
Replacing your oil is a fairly simple affair that should take no more than a few minutes out of your day. Your engine and aftermarket truck accessories will all work better after you have switched out your dirty oil for new stuff.
Efficient Contaminant-sieving Maintenance Features With High-flow Pontiac Oil Filter
Under daily driving conditions, your engine might incur daily wear and tear while sustaining powerful engine operations while following the course of your driving style. Engine oil is used to hasten all potentially abrasive engine mechanisms so seamless engine system operations will be established. Aside from minimizing the effects of friction to establish seamless mechanisms, motor oil applications periodically flushes out abrasive debris, sooth, and other particles which might have been created due to daily incurred daily wear and tear. With the use of highly responsive engine valve operations, timely routing of oil is controlled to insulate metal components and minimize engine wear and tear. To prevent the entry of contaminants to designated fluid passages and tubing, high-flow Pontiac oil filter constructions are employed to effectively decontaminate the fluid. Because abrasive and rust debris and other forms of contaminants may be dragged by your engine oil through its route, you need to keep an efficient and effective oil filter to maintain precision flow fluid at its finest state. Its great functionality could effectively cut down the frequency of oil change as the fluid becomes less likely to cause engine wear possible caused by the contaminants it could have carried. By trapping the smallest particle of debris that could promote corrosion among metal engine components, your engine could continually enjoy cost effective means of suspending soot and other forms of contaminants that could affect the efficiency of engine operations.
Premium Pontiac oil filters typically make use of cellulose or fibrous and synthetic materials as filtering media. Designed to trap for up to 30 microns of particle size as the fluid passes through, typical oil filter constructions is comprised of primary and secondary filters to significantly reduce engine wear with daily driving applications. The part is designed to suspend the entry of contaminants without affecting fluid flow rate. With the oil filter manufacturers’ continuous efforts to product development research; better performing filters have been created to help you achieve your set engine performance goals. Although the part may look like a simple contraption, its great functionality and service could contribute greatly to taking your vehicle’s overall performance a level up notch. Modern filter applications are used to target both inorganic and organic forms of contaminants which include sludge, dust, and even microscopic organisms like bacteria along with trace amounts of chemicals that could make your engine suffer from accelerated wear. Keeping the part effective and efficient like new is advised so you can continually enjoy the fuel efficiency as well as performance gains.
Publishing proper Pontiac oil filter maintenance which are typically found at repair or service manuals as well as product applications notes have long provided car owners with pointers to determining when will be the best time to replace stock filters. By effectively keeping track of the part’s actual working state during routine maintenance enables you to precisely determine when the part is already bound to fail. As you keep regular intervals for oil filter replacements, you can effectively eliminate the risks of facing sever engine problems due to overextended oil filter service life. Because an already contaminated engine filter could put your engine under undue stress in sustaining engine operations with restricted lubricant or oil flow, it already does more harm than good.

Does anyone know a brand name and size oil filter for a 1979 Chevy Silverado truck with a 350 motor.?
The truck has the 350 motor with four bolts. I checked Wal Mart, but their book in the auto department did not go back far enough.
