I recently rented the dvd of the movie Stealth(2005). The story envisions that future fighter jets are piloted by sophisticated computers to the extent that the lethal automated jets can think on their own without human pilots. In the end, it is the humans that are charged to prevent the war instead.
I am very passionate about fighter planes. I follow the history of the development of the various military jet planes especially those that can perform precision strike missions. One of my favourites is the Grumman F-14 Tomcat.
Grumman F-14 Tomcat is a supersonic, twin-engine, two-seat, variable geometry wing aircraft. The F-14 was the United States Navy's primary maritime air superiority fighter, fleet defense interceptor and tactical reconnaissance platform from 1974 to 2006, developed after the collapse of the F-111B project, and was the first of the American teen-series fighters which were designed incorporating the experience of air combat in Vietnam against the Russian-developed MiGs.
Replacing the F-4 Phantom II, the F-14 Tomcat was retired from the U.S. Navy fleet on 22 September 2006, having been replaced by the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet. It was the largest and heaviest U.S. fighter to ever fly from an aircraft carrier, its size a consequence of the requirement to carry both the large AWG-9 radar and the extremely long-range AIM-54 Phoenix missiles.
Armament included the main gun M61 Vulcan, with 676 rounds and 4,000 or 6,000 RPM selectable firing rate. In addition, 6,700 kg of stores could also be carried for combat missions in several hard points under the belly and on wing-mounted hardpoints, usually a combination of two - four Phoenixs or Sparrows on the belly stations, two Phoenixs/Sparrows on the wing hardpoints, and two Sidewinders on the wing hardpoints. Some deployments also used four AIM-7 Sparrows (on the belly) and four AIM-9 Sidewinders (on the wingmounts).
My interest in fighter planes had me going around collecting display models. In addition, I have for many years developed paper models of these planes. With some innovative folding techniques, I have managed to develop some of them which look like the real deal. In addition to F-14 Tomcat, I manage to make origami fighter planes in the likes of the RQ-4 Global Hawk, F-117 Night Hawk and Aurora.

An Introduction to Circular Saws
A good circular saw is critical to any serious woodworker and the go-to electric tool for most carpenters. The circular saw’s versatility is partially due to the fact that it can be either table mounted or hand held. For straight cuts, it is recommended that a circular saw be clamped to the wood with a straightedge. This will give you a straight cut akin to a table or miter saw. A quality circular saw will also allow you to adjust the cut depth and angle of the cut.
When choosing a circular saw, there are three central questions you must ask:
-
What kind of cutting power do you really need? There are two primary types of circular saws to choose from: worm-drive saws and sidewinder saws (also known as in-line saws). The big difference between the two is where the motor is situated and the torque that the motor placement provides.
On a worm-drive saw the motor is placed parallel to the blade which gives the saw considerable power. A worm-drive saw can cut through just about anything, even concrete, making it a popular choice for professional tradesmen. In fact, I would recommend that only professionals use worm-drive saws because of the inherent danger of wielding such a powerful tool.
If you are a more of a hobbyist, the sidewinder is a better alternative. Also known as an in-line saw, it also comes in two varieties, regular and small. A small sidewinder is a good pick for slighter body frames or people who prefer a lighter weight tool. While we are on the topic of safety, I cannot stress enough how important power tool safety is. Be sure to always wear protective gear! Also, I highly recommend a saw that features electric brakes. These “brakes” will reverse electricity flow when the trigger is released. This stops the blade in about two seconds flat and really improves the overall safety of the tool.
- Is portability important? Electrical power tools can be cumbersome on the work site. If you want your circular saw to have maximum agility, I would recommend a cordless version. Cordless circular saws eliminate the inconveniences of lunging around extension cords and generators allowing you to easily navigate around a job and save time. With the cordless variety you will have to sacrifice some torque. Also, keep in mind that there is a time limit to any battery.
- What kind of features matter to you? Think about the types of projects you plan on doing that will require a circular saw. How deep do your cuts need to be? The saw’s blade capacity dictates the depth of the cut. Obviously, larger blades cut deeper, so make sure the blade is large enough to accommodate your project plans. Now consider how often you will need to change out the saw blade. Will you need to make different depth cuts and change blades frequently? If so, shaft locks make blade changes fast and easy and are worth looking for if you foresee having to make a lot of blade changes.

best mountain bike under $200?
I want to get a bike and mount a 66cc engine on it like this: http://wyomingvalley.ebayclassifieds.com/bicycles/pittston/new-26-in-schwinn-sidewinder-moterized-bike/?ad=11112331
I am thinking about the schwinn sidewinder 26"
The bike must have a large triangular frame to fit the motor and must be at least have 26" wheels
Main priority is a frame that can continually ride at around 35 mph and brakes must work good
The brakes on a bicycle won't be that great with a gasoline engine attached. Too much weight & too fast. If you want to go around 35 to 40 mph on two wheels & get get great gas mileage...buy a 49cc scooter!!! See link below. About $1,200.
N. Korea can defeat US
How many wars has North Korea won in the last, say, 50 years? Quote form the article: "North Korea's main battle tanks - T-62s - have 155 mm guns"... LMOA! T-62s actually have rather old 115mm guns that can't penetrate US M1A1/2 armor at point blank range.
Thanks for visiting!
