My '03 Chevy Malibu won't start.?

My '03 Chevy Malibu won't start, a few weeks ago I replaced my ignition module and put in a brand new fuel pump assembly with fuel filter. The fuel gauge didn't work correctly but it ran. Then I drove about 80 miles north of my house, stopped to put gas in, and the car wouldn't start. Cranked over sounded like it was going to start, but no ignition. It was almost like I wasn't getting fuel, but I had plenty in the fuel rail for ignition. I checked the ignition module again, got it bench tested, came out good. Now I'm looking at the cps (crank and cam both). But I just need a little extra advice to know whether i should still be working on the ignition system or fuel system.

The car has about 55,000 miles on it, it runs a 3.1 liter V6 with dual over-head cams. Again new fuel pump assembly, new fuel filter, and replaced ignition module (not the coil packs though).

You might have gotten a bad fuel pump Its happened to me before. I Just recently replaced a fuel pump That was only a year old. I had a tough time finding the problem because the pump would come on and their was fuel in the rail. So I decieded to buy a fuel pressure gage and found that it was only 51 psi when the range was suppose to between 54-64 psi. So I took a chance and changed it and all was well. I also had the the same problem of it almost turning over.

If you do decide to change the pump again make sure you get all the crap and dirt out of the tank
