So you've decided to replace your HID bulbs on your own. A commendable idea, you will save money and learn a little about your car, which can only help you appreciate it more. The question is how much money do you want to save and how satisfied do you aim to be when you turn on you lights. Fortunately you can achieve the highest level of satisfaction at the lowest long term cost by following a few simple guidelines.
You may have already figured out how to remove you blown bulb and realized that if you can take out an old one, you can put in a new one. Look at your old bulb. Most high end cars are fitted with Philips Xenon bulbs as standard. You should see the bulb brand and part number printed on the base of the bulb. Why Philips? The answer is simple, Philips (the pioneers of Xenon car bulb technology) offer the best quality bulbs on the market today and as a result Philips bulb users experience high and consistent quality of light and great bulb longevity.
You may have already gone online and seen the variety of aftermarket Xenon bulbs going for much less than a Philips direct replacement, Why not save a quick buck? Well, you may get lucky but from my experience it's a stab in the dark. These cheap knock offs are generally unreliable, inconsistent and in efficient. They may save you money in the short term but due to poor longevity will need replacing more often and such cost you more money and effort in the long run. Having said that there are some quality brands out there such as GE and Osram you don't stand to save much by buying them over Philips.
So you have decided to get a quality brand replacement but don't buy it on the high street or the first flashy website you find, shop around. You will find a wide variety of prices. eBay is a tempting option as often it is cheap but be careful; eBay sellers do not often offer warranty, or good after service. They are out for the quick buck and they take advantage of eBays bargain reputation to get away with selling at inflated prices. Yes, there are some reputable companies that operate through eBay too but remember, eBay takes a 10% fee on all trader sales so inevitably products on eBay are at least 10% more expensive than those on independent websites! By shopping around you can see what warranties, delivery cost, time and product quality you can get for you money.
Once you have purchased your replacement bulb the way you handle it will influence its longevity. Do not touch the glass filament or the associated ceramic tube. The grease from your fingers will reduce the life of the bulb. If you handle this area by accident simply wipe down with a lint free rag and rubbing alcohol.
The new bulb may not be identical in color to your old one. Your OEM color temp is 4300k (a white with yellow tint), Xenon bulbs color shift over time to higher color temperatures so buy the time your bulb blows its probably closer to 5000k (white with blue tint). You can attempt to color match your bulb by purchasing color match bulbs or simply one up color temperature replacements but in my opinion the only way is to buy the bulb replacements in a pair. This may seem like over kill but when you consider that the bulbs where originally fitted at the same time and thus will probably die at around the same time too then it doesn't seem so wasteful.
If you experience any difficulty there are lots of resources available on most relevant car forums and any respectable bulb dealer should be able to offer advice. Lastly you can always bail out by taking your vehicle to the local garage where they should fit it within 30 min for the cost of labor. However, I doubt it will come to that, it really is as easy as.... changing a light bulb.

-
iPod Direct Access Mode - The iPod will play/pause when you enter/exit CD changer mode on your radio. In addition, the iPod responds to FF/RW from your head unit keys and steering wheel controls (where available)
-
iPod Playlist Mode - Your iPod maps the first five playlists stored on the iPod to CDs 1-5 on your head unit keys. Although the iPod keypad is disabled in this mode, the iPod display (and CD Text/dashboard displays in some applications) will show ID3 data of the currently playing song. Advanced content features including Random, Repeat, Scan and AlbumPlay are also available, even on radios that don't have these features. Barebone Computer Kit Support?
I recently ordered a computer off of Tiger Direct, and i cant seem to get it to work, we seem to have everything hooked up right, but we cannot start the computer.
The Parts are as follows:
Nvidia DDR2 memory
Western Digital Caviar SE16 500GB hard drive
Ultra 550 Watt ATX Power Supply
AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3.00Ghz Processor OEM
Asus M4N78 Pro Motherboard
Obviously nothing has been entered into the hard drive as the computer is unable to be turned on, Any help would be appreciated.
You need to have the ten or so pins in the lower right corner of the motherboard hooked up right so that the start button will start thing up
Match all the little black plugs from the front of the case, to the marking on the pins, like pwr+, pwr-, hdd lit, spkr, and so on.
Double check all the connections on the board. 24 pin to mobo, 4 pin to mob, plugs to cpu fan, case fan, sata to hard drives, and so on.
The power goes through a POST power on self test that has to be proven or it will not start. If some device that should start is not proven, it might allow starting.
Also, try to 'reset' the cmos before starting, I don't know if that will help, but just a thought. It should be in your Asus manual. My M3N78 Pro is very similar. those pins are in lower right corner also, blue plastic. Just take off put on pins next to it, wait a second, take off those pins and replace on original pins. But there are other blue pins in that area, so check your manual to get the right ones.
