Little snowmobile part help needed- Skegs/Runners/Carbides?
I'm fixing a ski off my 1989 Yamaha Ovation. There was a lot of rust on it some cracks and a big hole rusted in it at the front where the runner ends. I'm patching and welding all the cracks and holes in my freshman Hot Metals class. I'm to cheap to go out and buy a new ski-which would also take time to find. Anyways i had to break the bolts on the wear rod to get it off to fix the cracks.
So now I'll ask the all-important question- Where can i find good skegs for a sled this old? I'm hoping to still be able to find them in Farm and Fleet or something, but if I really need to i'll order online. But thats worstcase scenario because I have no way to order online right now.
Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Try a yamaha dealer, they may be able to find you one. Online might be you're best bet.
