I know you've been lured by superstore prices on cheap or inexpensive kids clothing, who hasn't?

How often have you pushed your cart through your favorite superstore and allowed baby or kids clothing to practically jump off the racks and into your cart? It's so easy to do, and so convenient too! The styles and colors may appeal to you, but usually the low price is what grabs you (or rather, makes you grab it!). And, the low price is certain indicator of lower quality.

You think you are saving money. but in reality, if this is the only way you shop for clothing for your kids, you a probably spending a lot more over the long haul than needed.

What if I were to tell you that you that it most often costs less over time to spend your money on quality, higher-priced clothing? This is the secret to dressing your kids for less.

Using a familiar example, taking newly purchased clothing out of a superstore is like driving a new car off the parking lot. It loses its value immediately. After one wear, your options for recovering your investment are only 5, 10, or 15 cents on the dollar at a garage sale or lower-end resale shop. Many charitable organizations and donation centers may not even want your items.

But, by "Buying Right" your options for recovering your investment expand to 20%, 30%, 40%, 50%, even 60% of retail value, depending on the demand for the clothing brand, the specific item, and the item's condition.

By now you may want to write off this advice by thinking you can't afford to buy higher-end, higher quality clothing for your kids. The good news here is that you don't have to and you shouldn't. To "Buy Right" means buying high quality brands at a discounted price (such as 50 - 90% off retail).

Let's take an example. A dress purchased at a superstore for $12 may be worth $1.50 - $3.00 when you are ready to sell it, if you have cared for it well. However, a designer dress with an original retail value of $50, purchased at a 70% discount for $15 may be worth $10 - $20 to you on the resale market. You may even make money on this transaction! There are endless stories of Moms selling their kids clothing on-line for double the amount they originally paid. But, let's say you sold it for just $10, your cost of wearing a fabulous designer dress is just $5 ($15 - $10), where as your cost of wearing the superstore dress is at least $9 ($12 - $3), if not more.

A couple shopping tips for "Buying Right" are:

Shop at end of the season sales, overstocks, samples sales and resale shops to get the best deals on high quality/designer clothing (going for 50 - 80% off retail value). Many of us are enticed by the billions of dollars advertisers spend on marketing into buying clothing for our kids weeks or months in advance of when they really need it. A little patience can be worth a lot of money to you here, and the wait isn't very long. Within 2 - 3 months of new lines coming out from the retailers, you can find them at 50% off or more. And, the more patient you can be, the bigger the your eventual return on your investment will be.

Buying at the end of the season ahead for the next year is a great strategy for most families and children. Buy a size up from your child's current size, and save it for a few months until the next season rolls around. I always try to buy more than 50% of my children's clothing this way, saving room for some brand new styles next season. One of my favorite tips is buying at the end of the season for the coming season. For example, you can find remaining spring/summer inventory in July at deep discounts that are perfect for your child's back-to-school wardrobe that you'll need to pull together in August.

To really take advantage of this strategy, you'll need to "Sell Right":

When it comes time to sell your children's clothing, sell online in very good - excellent condition at the time when the item is most in demand. For example, you should sell winter clothes in the fall (September-November), and sell your summer items in the winter-spring time frame (February-April). Selling on-line does not need to be difficult, and can be quite enjoyable (who doesn't like to get a little cash back in their pockets?). Selling on-line expands your market of potential buyers, and lets you control the price. Your next best bet is to find a resale shop that will agree to keep less than 50% commissions.

Reaping the Rewards:

Many moms have figured out the difference to dressing their kids for less by leveraging seasonal sales and by re-selling on-line. Eventually, they build up a re-cycling clothing fund for their kids and never have to spend out of their next paycheck.

The next time you are in a superstore, you might think twice about letting that cute little outfit jump off the rack and into your cart. Do you really need it now? Is it something you can shop around for to get higher quality? These days its so easy to shop on-line and often the best deals can be found right in your email box or promoted on your favorite social network. There's no need to haul the kids to malls, department stores, or children's boutiques.

Shopping for your kids can be convenient, enjoyable, and financially rewarding too! But, only if you don't get caught up in the myth and mega advertising that buying cheap or inexpensive kids clothing is the best strategy for saving money!

Know All About Rome: A Travelers Guide To Rome

The city of Rome is very impressive mostly because of the antique structures it has. It also has a great history attached with it. Rome was ranked at number 2 position in the 2004 Readers Choice Awards for the Top 10 European Cities (for Conde Nast Traveler). It was behind Florence only.

Rome is dry and hot in summers and rainy in winters. The city has a population of 2.7 million. You need to have a passport to visit Rome, as it is for most of the Italian countries. But you do not have to worry about the visa if your stay is not more than 90 days. You should visit Rome during the off-season that is from October to March. There are too many tourists during the summer months. Try to get accommodation into hotels near the historic district or the centro storico. Hotel de Russie is the situated perfectly between the Spanish Steps and the Piazza del Popolo. This way you will get to visit these places first and then move on to visit other places of interest.

You should explore Rome on your own. You should make a list of the sites you intend to visit. This will make traveling a lot easier for you. It will also help you save time. Private guided tours are also a good option. You can get the bookings done from your hotel only. You can also opt for the TramBus system. It is cheap and good. This bus system takes you to all the beautiful places in and around Rome.

Different people visit different places in Rome however there are certain sites which one should never miss. The Coliseum is the most popular structure in the city. You must visit this place. You can either look around it on your own or go for guides who are part of the conducted tours. The guides dress up as gladiators. The time when these tours are conducted are not fixed so you should call earlier and inquire about them.

After Coliseum the place to visit should be The Roman Forum or Foro Romano. This place has significant historical importance as it was the civic center of old age Rome. This was the place where all the significant activities took place be it political, religious or anything else. Even after 2000 years, its structures depict the Roman architecture in the true sense. There is no entry fee for visiting this place. It opens at 9 in the morning and closes 1 hour before the sun sets. Paid audio and guided tours are also available.

The Pantheon is a very old structure, around 1,800 years old. However the structure is still intact. This structure was built around 125 A.D. the word Pantheon literally means temple to all gods and it was built by Emperor Hadrian. It has got a huge 9 meter opening. That is the only source of light here. Some famous people like Vittorio Emmanuel II, Renaissance painter Raphael, Umberto I and two Kings of Italy are buried here. The building has remains of so many civilizations. You can know a lot about Roman civilization from here. You can learn about their sculpture, clothing, woodwork, language and many other things. You can actually learn about their thoughts also. There is no entry fee for The Pantheon. It is open for visitors throughout the week. It is closed on all holidays excluding Christmas.

You can visit all the listed placed in Rome in a single day. After this, you can spend a 3 hours at The Vatican. Here you can find huge collections of books, paintings, sculptures and many other things related to the history of the Catholic Church. But this time is not sufficient to examine each and every piece out there. You can not go through the entire Vatican collection at one go. In St. Peters you can have a look at Michelangelos Pieta. Then there is the magnificent Vatican Museum where some great antiques are placed.

There are also some Egyptian mummies here. However one place which you must visit is the Sistine Chapel. Michelangelo was a great sculptor and Pope Julius II asked him to paint the bible on Sistine Chapels ceiling. However his aim to embarrass Michelangelo wasnt fulfilled as Sistine Chapel went on to become one of the greatest pieces of art from the Renaissance period. The schedules here arent that regular so you should inquire about it well in advance.

Cafes and restaurants are there almost everywhere in Rome so there is no problem in finding them when you are feeling hungry. For traveling, wear comfortable dress and shoes. Do not carry too much luggage with you. To know all the things you need to do and need to visit, consult the hotel concierge or some other tourist information.

Is this a good vocal microphone? (Audio-Technica AT2035)?

I currently own a cheap Samson C01 condenser microphone and I'm looking for a nice upgrade. I don't really want to spend too much money, and so this Audio-Technica AT2035 is right up my price range.

I'd like to know if anyone has experience with this brand, or better yet, this model microphone, and if it's a good choice for rock/rap vocal recording? Any feedback would be great, thanks!

P.S. I use a Behringer UB1832FX-PRO mixer with a M-Audio Delta 44 Interface. (soon to be a Delta 1010 LT) :)

The Shure SM7B is a very nice microphone. And you had me sold on it until I noticed it's Dynamic. Will lose any range on a mic such as this? How do dynamic and condenser mics compare?

It's a little more money (ok, well, twice as much) but the SM7 ( http://pro-audio.musiciansfriend.com/product/Shure-SM7B-Microphone-with-Switchable-Response?sku=270247 ) is THE current rock vocal mic.
I'm not sure the AT would be a lot better than the Samson that you have.

New Arizona law prevents what Islamic extremism promotes
Editor, I would like to respond briefly to Muhajir Romero’s letter. First of all, it’s not racist for the state of Arizona to make their local immigration laws stricter.
