I need to know what this part is called so i can order a new one.?
My mom has an 89 Dodge Dakota Pickup (2 wheel drive, 6 cylinder). It had a broken part on the brakes that we went to replace and then the part on the other end broke too. My husband rigged it with a fuel line and clamps. Now it leaks.
The part on the first end is a metal line that fcomes off of the passenger side front tire next to the bleeder valve. The other end goes to a flex line that looks like a finely thredded screw over a very thin metal line. I think at one time the metal line had an attachment mechanism on it at one time. I think the flex hose is the same one that runs up and attaches to the Master Cylinder.
I am experiencing leakage at the end that attaches to the flex hose. It leaks no matter if the brake pedal is pushed or if it is not. Additional leakage occurs when you press the brake pedal.
What part do I need to ask for at the parts store?
OUTSIDE BRAKE LINE ! IF YOU GO TO AN AUTO PARTS , THEY WILL HAVE A DIAGHRAM FOR YOU TO LOOK AT !
