This crispy, golden brown treat takes about a minute to prepare and can be served ice cream, whipped cream or a can of fruit pie filling for an ultra-fast dessert. In addition to choosing a reasonably priced supplier, you'll want to compare the cost of different types of till rolls.  The least expensive option is economy paper single-ply till rolls.  

Grade A paper is brighter than the standard off-white economy paper, but isn't necessarily more expensive.  This is the best option if you don't require carbon copies of printed receipts.  

In many cases, a register can also print duplicates.  However, if you require more than one copy of each transaction receipt (one for your records, and one for the customer, for example), you'll want to compare the cost of printing a duplicate receipt on single-ply till roll paper, to using multi-ply paper.  

Multi-ply paper, most often double or triple ply, also saves money by saving time and conserving the printer ink ribbon.  It's up to you to compare costs and decide whether single or multi-ply till roll paper is best for your needs.

Other till roll options include thermal and impact action paper rolls.  Thermal till roll paper is most often used in chip and pin machines, and for industrial use.  Impact action paper is a type of carbonless paper also used in chip and pin systems that eliminates the need for ink printing ribbons, since the printed images are produced by the impact of the printing pins on the paper.

With careful planning, it is possible to improve the profitability of your business by limiting the cost of consumable supplies.  By taking stock of your needs for till roll paper and related supplies, and by carefully choosing a supplier that offers competitive pricing, you can save a significant amount of money in your day-to-day business operations.

How can we make it so it's not so messy?

My husband and I made pumpkin rolls last year. At the point where we spread the cream on the cake and went to roll it up, the cream went everywhere. It was so messy that we got discouraged and haven't tried to make pumpkin rolls since. It tasted really good, the cake consistency was great and the cream was yummy. What did we do wrong? Is there any way to make it neater? What do you do when you make those rolled up kinds of desserts to keep the cream or filling from going all over the place? Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you put the cream too close to the edges before rolling. Try leaving about 1 or 2 inches uncovered before rolling.
