What is it? I got it for Christmas in my drill bit set.?
It's a tapered cylinder (like a marrette) with 'teeth' on the inside of the small end. The 'teeth' point in and are on a spring so they slide up and down. I cannot figure out what they are for and was wondering if anyone else knew. I have pictures of two bit cases with the items in the case. OK, if it's for countersinking, how do you use it then?
they are counter sink.its you put the screw inside where the teeth are. the drill then screws them into the wood/drywall.
the drill continues to sink the screw until this item pops the screw loose.
it should leave a circle the size and shape of a hammer head.
