Buying a DSM Eclipse GST or a GS?
I know there are a few other differences between these trim levels as far as appearance and interior goes but im looking at major differences in performance. Specifically the Chrysler 420A and the Mitsubishi 4G63 turbo engines.
Im concerned my parents will opt for the slower GS model though i would much prefer the quicker turbo-equipped GST. AND so my question is, how possible is it to "tune" or modify the GS with GST engine parts or possibly an entire engine swap?
I also have a plan to replace the intake, exhaust, turbo components, and other performance parts afterwords but i want a solid base to start from.
Any input or suggestions?? Thanks for the help
Go with the GS-T if possible. You are not going to be able to get what you are looking for from the GS. The ECUs on GS are very restrictive unless you have a 97.
Swapping a 4G63 into a GS... you are going to be doing A LOT of fab work. The motors are not only different in composition, but mounting. It would require the new trans, wiring, mounts, etc that has been listed before.
Before getting into big money you can only really boost the 420 to about 8psi safely on stock internals.

I have a 95 Talon tsi that I have owned for about 5 months. I got it with about 180 000 cliks, since then I have put on about 20 000k on the engine.
