roush chip in ford mustang?
ok i have a roush chip in my mustang and was planning on putting a programmer with it but my friend said that it would disable the roush, is this true would me hooking up like a diablo tuner fry the roush????
When you say "Chip" I'm guessing you mean a Roush program that was programed in the cars ECU. The ECU of the car can only hold one program. If it's a Roush program either in the ECU by a "Flash" or a "Chip" in the ODC plug, you can reprogram the ECU with anyone of the programers out on the market. If you really have a Chip, just unplug it.
I feel you are wasting your money because Roush usually has the better programs anyway. But it sounds like it's non adjustable and therfore a programer may be better. You will be able to program things like timing, plus or minus, shift points if its an automatic tranny, and fan set points.
