Is this normal for a Chevrolet?
I have a 2007 Chevy HHR, with about 106,000 miles. I have had many "cosmetic" issues with it such as the blinkers not turning on/staying on, gear shift sticking, door lock broke and entire door had to be replaced, automatic locks don't always work and must sometimes be locked/unlocked manually, CD gets stuck in player and won't eject, and buttons on stereo often stick and won't change stations. I was trying to convince myself that this was all cosmetic stuff and the car was running well, but today, the "check engine light came on". Car still ran fine and won't be able to take it to shop until Monday, so not sure of the diagnosis. This is my first Chevrolet, had a Toyota and Honda prior to this, and I never had to make repairs while I was still making car payments. Is this the norm for all cars now? For Chevrolet? Because I have so many miles so soon? Any advice would be appreciated, including how to find a reputable mechanic. Thanks so much!
In all honesty I stopped buying american cars 15 years ago Great cars but don't last like the imports
do when the miles pile on. Yes these problems are very common for that mileage. Your problems
seem to be all electronic. Not sure about the check engine light, that could be anything. I would check
the oil level so your not driving with no oil.
