Help on science project, involving light, measuring light, volts, amps, watts, ohms???
okay my little sister is doing her science project at last minute and she never did the experiments
okay she wants to find out if putting certain items in the way of light will effect its power or heat or watever
so she was supposed to first put a lamp over a 0.8x1.6" (2.4cm) solar cell and measure its power that the cell is taking after a half an hour with a 17-Range Analog Multimeter from radio shack.
what would the power be measured by?
amps, volts, watts, ohms, etc? and what would a estimated guess of that experiement be?
and it the other ones have materials between the light and solar cell such as: glass, red colored glass, a tank of water ( ill just subtract the glass results to this result), and a magnifying glass

the light bulb is 45 watt
basically, you need to put a load resistor across the output of the solar cell. Based on the specs for the solar cell, I would use a 1.8 ohm resistor.
Then measure the voltage across the resistor as a function of your various lighting conditions.
Power (in watts) delivered to you load = V*V/R
where:
R = 1.8 ohms
V = voltage you measured across the resistor.
