need to replace gas tank,stock replacement or fuel cell?
it is a 71 pinto and yes i have heard all the jokes so please,i am serious here. it is a stock 2000cc with no plans but to fix up for a commuter vehicle.would you put a fuel cell in it or the stock tank that caused so much bad press back in the day?

You question may be moot. I've spent about twenty minutes on-line trying to find anyone who sells an aftermarket fuel tank for your car and no one yet - jcwhitney.com, RockAuto.com, PartsTrain.com, even GasTanks.com (Quanta Products) - no one offers a gas tank, much less a fuel cell.
If your gas tank is leaking, then I recommend that you either find a local fuel tank repair shop or check out these guys: Moyer Fuel Tank Renu (link below) in Greensburg PA. If it is not leaking, count your blessings, stick with it, and keep your commuter car conversion costs low.
