Well my father is a drug addict he has been for as long as I can remember i have never known him any other way but my older brother has my brother and i are 11 years apart and i love him more than life itself my brother is my everything he's my world i'd give every pleasure of life up for him he recently got caught cheating on his wife and he says that i shouldnt worry about him but i cant stop today he came home and he was acting weird he didn't stay in the house more than 5 minutes i went outside and i found him in his car asleep i figured he was just tired because he works for the railroad but then i saw an open empty beer container in his car so i came inside and called my mom to inform her that i thought something was going on he lost his cell phone last night as so he says he hasnt been home since he left about 4 or 5 hours ago i love him and im scared that he's turning into my father only instead of drugs its alcohol how do i let go i spend every moment of my life worrying!!!
this is not your problem but your brothers. he is going through a rough time - he got caught at something he doesn't know how to handle - and he is handling the situation the only way he knows how. it doesn't necessarily mean he is going to turn into your dad. he's just lost and looking for an outlet. it doesn't make it right - but he is hurting right now. i hope he can turn himself around, talk with his wife and settle the situation he got himself caught up into. you cannot worry for him. yes, he is your brother, but he is a man and it's up to him to come full circle and correct the mistake he has made with his wife. just be there for him with support and without making judgments.
