This is a NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER INDIAN HEAD DIV MD report procured by the Pentagon and made available for public release. It has been reproduced in the best form available to the Pentagon. The abstract provided by the Pentagon follows: Fatal mishaps have been blamed on accidental ignition of solid rocket propellant by electrostatic discharge (ESD). Despite study of this problem since the first incident in 1985 involving a Pershing II motor stage, our understanding of ESD ignition remains limited. To determine the physics of electrically-induced ignition, the temperature, density, and size of electrical arc channels have been quantified during electrical discharge experiments on a composite solid propellant To simulate the discharge in ESD scenarios involving insulated motors, short duration electrical discharges (50 to 400 ns) were employed. The lowest ignition energy for these experiments was 160 plus or minus 1.4 mJ. Measurements from pressure transducers and infrared detectors were consistent with a relatively slow thermally-induced reaction rather than prompt ignition from a shock wave. A high-speed framing camera observed expansion of the arc channel as electrical energy was deposited. An analytical model was adapted to predict arc channel expansion for various discharge profiles. An ignition model based on energy transport, via radiation and thermal conduction, from the plasma to the surrounding energetic constituents is proposed. A one- dimensional thermal-chemical kinetics code, XCHEM, was used to demonstrate the importance of radiation in the ignition model. |

If Mercedes-Benz would like to keep its latest AMG-fettled creation under wraps until the New York Show then it's entirely a different story for the people in Brabus since they simply just can't wait to showoff what they did with the new W204 C-Class.
Brabus installs a special crankshaft together with some large pistons which increase the displacement to 4.0 liters. The four-valve cylinder heads were optimized for gas flow and were fitted with special camshafts. The other modification done includes a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with metal catalysts together with some newly programmed engine electronics. This conversion has resulted in a maximum power output of 244 kW and a peak torque of 420 Nm at 4200 r/min making the petrol-powered Brabus model capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in a matter of 5.6 seconds while reaching a top speed of 275 km/h.
Every detail and component of the C-class was not exempted from the attention of the Brabus from the Mercedes ignition coil to the oil burners; etc.---all received the company's PowerXtra performance kit for the C200 CDI. The first stage of modification D2 (III) includes increasing the power of the 2.0 liter common-rail diesel by 29 kW while the torque soars to 450 Nm.
The Barbus D3 (III) kit increased the power stakes for the C200 CDI by delivering 143 kW while the torque remains the same as the D2 (III). The top of the range C320 CDI gets the D6 (III) kit which revs out an additional 36 kW and boosts the torque to a seismometer-tripping 590 Nm which according to Brabus will allow the C320 CDI to reach 0 to 100 km/h in as short as 6.9 seconds and reaching a top speed of 250 km/h.
The Brabus stainless-steel quad sport exhaust system is offered for all engine variants together with a pair of performance braking systems, custom-made alloys of up to 20 inches in diameter, lowering kits and sway bars.

what am i missing?
i have a 98 honda accord and i thought that i have finally finished it but i still feel like i am missing something, its lowered 3.5 inches carbon fiber lip, 18" khuma wheels black with crome lip, injen catback exuast and intake, dc sports hearders and pullys and cam gears, type r cam, probe indu. high dome pistons, valve springs, port polished head, stage 3 clutch, throttle body, injectors, fuel pump and regulator and fuel rails, short shifter, msd ignition and ecu upgrade (programable), vetech controller. i have been working on this car for 6 years and now i finally got it into the 9's with slicks and i feel like im missing something, my shop has already tuned it (honda high performance and tuning), im putting about 360 hp to the wheels without nos or a turbo and about 380 torque so i got that i just feel like im missing something will someone please see if i have missed something.
sorry man, but I dont think that it is possible that you have 360whp on an N/A accord. Especially with those mods. Type R cam? I didnt know that accords came with B-series engines.
And the fact that you've put so much time and effort into your Honda, and spent countless hours looking at the engine, you should know that it's VTEC not vetech.
