Pioneer TS-W3002D4 12 In. Champion Series PRO Subwoofer with 3500 Watts List Price: $250.00 Sale Price: Too low to display |
|
~Pioneer's TS-W3002D4 subwoofers are designed to produce powerful bass. Just take a look at the super-heavy-duty construction, designed to handle up to 3,500 watts max. Double-stacked magnets deliver higher power, and a step-up radial surround offers superior control and long excursions. Pioneer used a constructed cast-aluminum basket for this sub--add in a patented IMPP cone and you've got a monster sub that can handle whatever you want to throw at it. Pioneer Champion Series PRO Subwoofers Powerful by Design Champion Series PRO subwoofers deliver incredible musicality heightened by booming bass--all in a versatile, compact design. Inspired by Pioneer's strong SPL heritage, Champion PRO subwoofers deliver a remarkably powerful, accurate, and clear low-end that will transform your in-car audio experience. Air Suspension System Boasting big bass power, the patented air suspension technology of the Champion Series PRO subwoofer makes it a hard-hitting performer. The innovative architecture of the chamber creates a spring-like effect that compresses air, enabling the speaker to fit a 10-inch enclosure while delivering 12-inch bass sound. Stealthy Installation Masterfully engineered to deliver maximum sound in a minimal enclosure space, the Champion Series PRO subwoofer is designed to fit a variety of spaces. From under the front seats and behind the back seats, to inside doors and under the dash, your install can be customized to fit your needs. Built to Last The Champion Series PRO subwoofer combines innovative technology with top quality materials to consistently deliver superior performance. This subwoofer houses a three-layer, wide-roll, fiber-woven radial surround that provides phenomenal power handling with minimal distortion. The enduring strength of this subwoofer comes from its aluminum die-cast chassis, double stacked magnets, patented air suspension system, and rigid lightweight IMPP cone. TS-W3002D4 Features Air Suspension System For its revolutionary 3.25 inch deep Shallow Subwoofer, Pioneer created an Air Suspension system effective within a 70% smaller-than-previous enclosure that locks air for a spring-like effect between main and drive cones moving in unison. The result is consistently clear, powerful, wide-ranging bass response. The subwoofer's dual cone structure maintains better sound linearity and reliability after hours of hard use than conventional subwoofers with "spider" structures to keep the voice coil aligned. This incredible technology is applied to this new generation of high output, high performance subwoofers. Double-Stack Magnet with Double-Stack Top Plate To produce the tremendous magnetic energy we envisioned for this sub, we employed double-stacked magnets, weighing a hefty 110oz, and a double-stacked top plate above them. This design ensures positive, powerful control of the voice coil during those long excursions--and it's one reason you can ring up those high SPL numbers. Wide-Roll 3-Layer Fiber Radial Surround A sub's surround plays a key role in a speaker's performance. In order for bass response to be clear and tight, the surround has to respond evenly around its entire circumference without flexing or puckering, even at high volume levels. That's why Pioneer created a surround consisting of two layers of urethane with a layer of interwoven fiber between them. It's strong, stable, and it reduces distortion. In addition, the wider-than-normal design provides a long, linear excursion for excellent control and heavy-duty durability. Interlaced Basalt/Carbon Fiber Reinforced IMPP Cone To ensure that you get more natural bass, Pioneer incorporated their new Basalt fiber technology into their shallow subwoofers. The volcanic-rock fibers create a cone that is lightweight, rigid, well damped, stable in temperature extremes, and more . In short, this bass really rocks. Cast Aluminum Basket Designed from scratch by Pioneer, this one-piece aluminum basket assembly holds the motor assembly, cone, and magnet structure securely in place. The benefits of this design: reduced internal stress, superior damping, and increased magnetic efficiency. Dual Voice Coil The TS-W3002D2/D4 provides two voice coils, each either at dual 2 or dual 4 ohms. So you can use a low-impedance amp to produce much bigger, much more powerful bass. More options, more power: that's what DVC is all about. The Bridging Adapter is included for an easy Single Voice Coil hookup. It becomes a Single 4 Ohm or Single 8 Ohm with Bridging Adapter for ultimate flexibility for use with modern mono amplifiers Add Newly Designed Spoke Grilles We also recommend covering up your subwoofer with the UD-G308 . This stylish spoke grille is a must add-on when building a system and gives the look of pure professionalism. Click images above to enlarge. Here are some more information for Carbon Fiber Front:

The Jeep Hurricane is a concept vehicle unveiled by Daimler-Chrysler at the 2005 North American International Auto Show. It opened with and continues to receive rave reviews! So many in fact that it was rumored that Daimler-Chrysler was considering a limited production run of the vehicle. Those rumors have died down, but the Hurricane continues to draw the interest and attention of 4x4 afficianados, and hey, why not?
As the Daimler-Chrysler spokesman said: "Jeep Hurricane is simply the most maneuverable, most capable and most powerful 4x4 ever built. It pays homage to the extreme enthusiasts' Jeep vehicles in form and off-road capability, but is a unique interpretation of Jeep design. Simply stated, it is the extreme example for the Jeep brand."
Why build such a vehicle? The Hurricane broadly successfully and dramatically illustrates Daimler-Chrysler's ingenuity, technical ability and wherewithal. Still, the Hurricane does have practical applications out in the real world. As a Daimler-Chrysler spokesman put it, "Out in the wilderness, changing direction in minimal space can mean the difference between an afternoon of adventure and a distress call back to the trailhead.....The multi-mode four-wheel steering system on Jeep Hurricane is designed to offer enthusiasts the next level of performance and unexpected maneuverability." It's not hard to imagine that we'll eventually see a military vehicle built off of this original design.
The Hurricane possesses an extremely powerful power system with not one but two 5.7-liter HEMI engines, one in the front and one in the back. Both engines deliver an impressive 335 horses for a total of 670 hp. The Hurricane set-up uses the Chrysler Group's Multi-Displacement System which allows it to run on 4, 8, 12 or all 16 cylinders enabling it to adjust for speed, power and torque giving the driver ultimate power train control. The Hurricane is responsive and can go from 0 to 60 in less than five seconds!
The power is transferred through a central transfer case with split axles and has a mechanically controlled four-wheel torque distribution system. The suspensions, both front and rear, are short/long arm independent with 20 inches of travel, featuring coilover shocks with remote reservoirs.
One of the most impressive features of the Hurricane is its zero turning radius, which enables the vehicle to turn virtually in a circle in place! This is all thanks to a skid steer capability and toe steer, which is the ability to turn both front and rear tires inward. The Jeep concept vehicle has two types of 4-wheel steering: the traditional method with the rear tires turning opposite of the front wheels and an innovative one in which all four wheels turn in the same direction. This actually allows the Jeep Hurricane to move sideways without changing where it is pointing.
Topping off all of this is the Hurricane's fantastic ground clearance of 14.3 inches and impressive approach-departure angles of 64.0 and 86.7 degrees. It really is a go anywhere do anything vehicle.
The Hurricane also features an innovative way to combine body, power-train and suspension. The suspension along with the power-train is mounted directly to the one-piece carbon fiber reinforced body, eliminating the weight and need for a frame. The vehicles belly is protected and connected by an aluminum spine, which acts as a huge skid plate mechanism. This is a lightweight and structurally strong set-up.
The general public wasn;t the only ones who loved what they saw. The Jeep Hurricane won Autoweek's "Most Fun" Concept award at the 2005 North American International Auto Show. As we noted earlier there were rumors that Daimler-Chrysler was toying with the idea of a limited production, but those rumors have died down amid the company's statement that this was indeed a concept vehicle and that's all (at least for now). Kids, however, will be able to enjoy the Hurricane as Fisher-Price has introduced an all-new Jeep Hurricane toy.
In addition, for learning about and ordering the latest innovation in Jeep aftermarket parts, great websites like http://www.xtremeterrain.com will illustrate what is new and offer a selection of affordable and high quality parts.

Installing Carbon Fiber Hoods: A Quick Guide
There many reasons that carbon fiber has taken off in the past few years: it is lightweight, rigid, and visually appealing with a unique textured look and a smooth finish. A lot of tuners like to add a carbon fiber hood on their cars because these carbon fiber hoods can reduce the weight of the vehicle by as much as 40 or 50 pounds compared to steel hoods.
Carbon fiber hoods, along with other weight reducing modifications, can improve 0-60 times and handling and acceleration. Another reason is the cool looking finish. Adding a few carbon fiber touches as a theme all along a car can score some major style points. Although carbon fiber hoods are fairly expensive, they add a lot of style for the money.
Now that you have purchased the hood you want, you need to install it. Because the factory hood will be heavy you should get a few friends to help you. But once the factory hood is off, you should be able to handle the much lighter carbon fiber hood. Here is a quick guide to help you install it.
Your installation begins by removing the windshield washer jets from the factory hood. Unclip or unscrew their tubing to remove them. If there is a light attached to the hood, remove it to use on your new hood. With washer jets and the light removed, prop the hood up with the hood prop if you have one. If you bought one of those carbon fiber hoods with gas shocks, remove them before removing the four bolts that hold hood to the hinges. Be careful to support the hood when removing the hinge bolts so you don't damage the fenders or the windshield.
Carefully remove the factory carbon fiber hood from the hinges by pulling it away from the windshield. Place the new carbon fiber hood by lining up the bolts on the hinges and tightening them down. Reattach the gas shocks or set the hood prop in place and reattach your windshield washer jets. You can now reattach your saved light using some 3M adhesive double sided tape, or carefully screwing it into place, as long as the screws are small enough to not come up through the top of the hood.
Now, put the hood down to check for alignment. If the alignment needs to be adjusted, lift the hood and loosen the hinge bolts just enough to make small adjustments. Congratulations, carbon fiber hood owner, your car is now equipped with one of the most treasured of carbon fiber hoods!

Carbon fiber frame is about to fail? How does it fail, what kind of crash worst possible?
I ride a carbon fiber frame road bike and was unlucky to hit a log at a very high speed (around 70km/h). I cleared the front wheel but the rear wheel really took a hit. I know that carbon fiber bikes are strong, but I would like to know what kind of warning signals should i be looking for? My rear wheel had to be replaces (hard hit) but the bike seems OK. Should I be concerned about micro cracks spreading?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks for the answer. I should have been a little more clear. I took the bike to the shop right away and they said it was OK... its been a few months, since the incident and I've been riding it just fine. No cracks are visible... so you think I am "in the clear"??
Thanks again.
Carefully inspect the entire frame for cracks. Sometimes they show themselves as fine scratches, so be careful. A magnifying glass may be helpful.
If you see ANY cracks (or possible cracks) I would take it to a shop for evaluation BEFORE riding it again.
EDIT:
There is always the possibility of something delaminating after a big hit, and it isn't always able to be detected. The most common areas after trauma are at the seat tube/top tube/seat stay junction and at the rear dropouts. You might do well to remove the seat post from the frame and "feel around" for hairline cracks.
Carbon fiber frames are good for about 15,000 to 20,000 miles if ridden carefully but I always recommend replacement or professional evaluation (includes completely tearing the bike apart and applying loads to certain parts of the frame) every 5,000 miles or 2 years.
Somehow I don't think your shop did anything except a casual inspection, so I would still inspect it myself... every inch... very carefully.
Oh.. the worst possible failure is known as SCF, or "Sudden Catastrophic Failure". SCF occurs without warning and is usually, well, catastrophic. This is most prevalent on carbon fiber and high end thin walled aluminum frames.
