Why isn't my dishwasher getting hot water?
I have a Sears Kenmore Model 587.1414, 587.1514, or 587.1614 (not sure which one) Dishwasher. The hoses appear to be connected properly underneath the sink; they're on the hot water side, there's a shut-off valve there, no leaks, draining properly. Also, I checked the temperature of the hot water coming out of my sink and it's 135-136F. When I run the dishwasher, give it time to get some water in there, and then open it up and put my hand in the water, it's only warm. My dishes are not getting clean!
The line that goes from underneath the dishwasher, the water inlet valve, to the hot water pipe is a thin, whitish-clear line. I am wondering if by time it travels through the line to inside the washer, it's losing heat? I picked up a Goodyear braided dishwasher connector, looks like it will provide insulation for the water, but I don't want to go through all the trouble to replace that line if that's not what the problem is. Hope someone can help.
