Furnace makes an "explosion" sound while running?
Not all the time. And not at a specific time.
Upflow gas furnace started making a loud boom or explosion following snow storm. Thought snow may have been blocking air intake. Not the case. Intake and exhaust tubes are clear.
Technician came today and was stumped.
Any suggestions?

-Maybe the gas valve is going bad. (gas regulator) It might be letting too much gas in at certain times.
-Maybe the furnace isn't purging before or after it cycles (causing gas to become left in the lines).
How old is the furnace??
-See if someone can time the ignition & cycle times & use a gas sensor to see if too much gas is getting into the pilot. (a professional of course)
