Features
With the recent technological advances in portable media, it's no surprise that portable radios have also seen a lot of change in recent years.
While you can still find the old analog tuning radios if you look for them, most new portable radios feature digital displays and digital tuning. However, not all radios handle this new technology in the same way.
For instance, some radios will have a digital clock. Some will have a backlight that's always on, and some will have a backlight that only stays on for a few seconds after you interact with the radio. Many radios feature auto-shutoff features, whereby you can program the radio to turn off after a certain amount of time.
Unlike analog radios, digital radios allow you to define presets. While the number of presets varies by radio, most will allow between 10-25 presets across both AM and FM bands.

Style

Sound
Some radios get better reception than others, but there are a couple things to keep in mind:
1. No matter how good your radio, if you're working in the basement of Fort Knox, you aren't going to get a signal.
2. The quality of the sound depends largely on your headphones. Most portable radios will come with a set of earbuds, but they are generally low-quality and should be replaced with a nice set of headphones. It's also worth noting that many portable radios use the headphones as the antenna.
Power Source
Most portable radios use alkaline batteries, but the type and quantity will depend on the size of the radio. Generally speaking, portable radios are simple electronics, and tend to get exceptional battery life. Some even come with AC adapters and rechargeable batteries like you would expect to see in a cell phone.
Convergence
As more and more mobile devices hit the market, we're starting to see FM receivers built into other devices, such as MP3 players and cell phones. Nobody wants to carry around more electronics than they need to, so if FM radio is your thing, it might be worth checking out a converged device.

Priority Gauges For Your Mustang - How to Install Your Priority Gauges and Gauge Pods
Selecting the type of gauge to install for your supercharger, like the mustang must compensate for performance as well as style and beautification, whether you are opting for a triple pod installation-the very popular one-or the single on your dashboard or A-pillar gauge all must meet performance needs especially for sophisticated rods like the Mustang.
In installing gauge on your car you'll want to keep abreast of the changes going on under the hood as you pedal, so the pods have to well positioned and well and effectively lighted for the gauge to serve you. For the mustang there are lots of Engine variables, performance derivatives that will have to go into display at the gauges. For a supercharger like the mustang there are key priority that will have to go into consideration when choosing gauges and pods to install them; the first is the fuel gauge, this makes sure that there is always a sufficient fuel pressure under every boost. To install this run two lenghts of braided lines supplied by the auto meter. Use an isolator to keep the fuel out of the passenger compartment, the fuel pressure supply will be taken from the fuel rail. like the rest of the gauge, illumination of the gauge facing should be taken from the factory lighting. This way the gauge face lights up when you when you turn on the lights, locating a suitable power source would only take you a minute if you have a nack for fix-it-myself.
The second is EGT (exhaust temperature gauge) this gauge can detect problems in the air/fuel mixture by displaying temperature; installing the EGT requires drilling and tapping a hole into the down pipe. Remove the down pipe, drill and tap for probe fitting and install back on the engine. Now run the wiring for the probe through thhe engine compartment and through the grommet in the firewall. then wiring from the gauge, the probe and a power source will be run to the temperature module.
The Ultra boost the last priority gauge to be installed serves a great deal of purpose too,gives you constant check on the boost pressure. This is important because sudden changes in pressure can mean damage to the blower, a vacuum leak or other problems. Installing the last gauge on the A-pillar triple gauge pods required running a plastic boost line from the back of the gauge to a suitable vacuum source. if the supercharger available in your mustang does not come with a hole for a suitable vacuum source drill one and tap the hole for boost gauge fitting. Common error in running the plastic leaves the line vunerable to the heat of the hot surfaces and once the engines start running the ensuing damage will result in a vacuum leak. With a little help from the neighbourhood work shop fine touches may be done on the rest.
