Lug nuts on aluminum alloy rims?
I own a 1994 toyota pickup truck.2wd, 5 speed.I just bought a set a 15" aluminum alloy (pacer brand name) wheels.The techs at the tire store (where I bought the wheels) installed my (brand new) aluminum alloy wheels using acorn lug nuts (that where on the previous aftermarket chrome wheels).Is this okay? I was always told to use mag seat (with a washer) on aluminum alloy wheels.
Any input?
You used to have to have the special nuts with washers. I don't know about new aftermarket wheels, but my aluminum Chevy wheels take an acorn-type nut. One word of warning: I put these Z28 wheels on this Buick.

I had to buy lug nuts with a slightly larger seat on them, so I bought some Superior brand which were made in China.DON'T BUY CHINESE LUG NUTS!!!!!!! They are useless. The threads stripped out before they were even close to being tight. Buy nuts from McGuard.
