I need to weld a steel nut to an aluminum post (for my bicycle). What is the best way to accomplish this?
I have a steel nut that I need to attach to an aluminum post. I currently have it attach with Rhino glue. I was thinking of using a soldering iron, but I'm thinking that the solder would not adhere to the aluminum. I'm not sure about welding, though. What would you recommend? Soldering/welding or some other composite?
What had happened was that I drilled a hole in the seat post and in order to use the bolt (with a little plastic wheel) effectively, it needs the nut on the end. So, the hole passes through the post, and on the opposite side, I have the nut temporarily in place with glue.

cant remember the name right now but it comes in a small tupe about 1 inch around and about 7 /10 inchs long iv used it it works great my son has used it while out dirt biking it really does work
