Here are some more information for Aluminum Chevy Timing:

Nissan's sporty, front-wheel-drive Maxima sedan returns for 2010 with no changes to its standard 3.5-liter V6 engine.
The Maxima's VQ35DE engine is part of Nissan's ubiquitous VQ engine family, also used in the Altima, Murano, Quest, and earlier versions of the 350Z sports car. The VQ is one of the most respected engines in the auto industry, appearing on Ward's 10 Best Engines list every year from 1997 to 2007.
The VQ35DE is an all-aluminum, 24-valve DOHC V6, with Nissan's continuously variable valve timing system (CVTCS) on both the intake and exhaust cams. In 2009, Nissan made extensive changes to this engine, revising the intake and exhaust manifolds; raising its compression ratio from 10.3 to 10.6:1; reducing internal friction and reciprocating mass; and adding CVTCS to the exhaust cam, as well as the intake. Those modifications raised the engine's output to its present level of 290 horsepower and 261 lb-ft of torque.
The 3.5-liter engine endows the Maxima with strong performance. Some reviewers find off-the-line response slightly lazy, a function of the standard Xtronic continuously variable transmission, but once on the move, acceleration is impressive. Fuel economy is also reasonable for the engine's size and power. The EPA rates the Maxima at 19/26 city/highway, although the V6 requires premium fuel.
While it is powerful and reasonably frugal, the 3.5-liter V6 is also noticeably gruffer and less refined than the 3.0-liter version of this engine found in earlier Maximas. While some critics like its throaty growl and sporty full-throttle roar, others find it excessively noisy, and complain that it drones at cruising speeds.
A more sophisticated 3.7-liter version of this engine, the VQ37VHR, has replaced the 3.5-liter V6 in the 370Z and most six-cylinder Infinitis. Nissan has not yet announced plans to offer the 3.7-liter engine in the Maxima and Altima.

Make Way for the All-new 2008 Chevrolet Malibu
General Motors Corp.'s (GM) Chevrolet division has finally released the much-awaited 2008 model of the Chevy Malibu midsize sedan. This model will roll out in Chevrolet dealer showrooms all over the U.S. starting this November. The car comes with a wide range of features inside and out, as well as elegant optional packages for customers. With this model, Chevrolet continues its "commitment to dependable, fun-to-drive cars packed with value", according to the Detroit-based automaker.
“When we debuted Malibu at the North American International Auto show in January, we promised that its $40,000 looks would cost half as much. Well, we’ve kept our word. Customers will see everything we’ve packed into a sedan starting under $20 grand and think there’s a typo on the sticker.” said Ed Peper, general manager of Chevrolet.
Peper added: “We strive to offer the best value in every segment where we compete, and midsize cars are not different. For example, the Chevy Impala has been one of the biggest success stories in this industry during the past two years, gaining more than two points of market share. Now, combined with Malibu, this gives us a solid one-two punch in midsize cars and puts Chevy back into the car game in a big way.”
GM is offering five variants of the all-new 2008 Chevy Malibu for the American automotive market. These include the Malibu LS, Malibu 1LT, Malibu 2LT, Malibu LTZ, and the Malibu Hybrid. Customers can choose two power plant options for all of these models. GM offers the dual-overhead cam 2.4L Ecotec DOHC four-cylinder engine capable of pumping out 169 horsepower (126 kW) and offers 30 mpg highway, 22 city of fuel economy. For performance oriented car buyers, they can choose the 3.6 L DOHC V-6 engine with variable valve timing. This engine pumps out 252 hp (188 kW) with 26 mpg highway and 17 city fuel economy.
The all-new 2008 Chevy Malibu also comes with an all-new refined exterior with new grille design with heritage-inspired twin round taillamps. Other features of the 2008 Chevy Malibu include upscale interior design with a choice of cloth, suede and leather inside; available two-tone cockpit in a number of color combinations; gauges with Chevrolet blue LED backlighting; four-wheel independent suspension; liquid spray-on sound deadener; theft-deterrent system; remote vehicle starting (standard on 2LT and LTZ); TAPshift manual shift control (available on 2LT and standard on LTZ); 16-inch standard wheels (LS); 18-inch ultra-bright aluminum polished wheels (available 2LT, standard on LTZ); available rear power center includes 110-volt AC adapter with three-prong outlet; available sunroof; and premium eight-speaker, 210-watt sound system. Customers can also personalize this model with APC gauges, perhaps.
In addition, the 2008 Chevy Malibu also comes with a host of safety equipments like dual-stage frontal, seat-mounted side-impact thorax and head-curtain side air bags, four-wheel anti-lock disc brakes with all-speed traction control, OnStar Gen 7 safety and security system with Turn-by-Turn Navigation, GM’s StabiliTrak electronic stability control system, and standard tire-pressure monitoring system.
The base manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) for 2008 Chevy Malibu models include:
2008 Malibu LS - $19,995; 2008 Malibu Hybrid - $22,790; 2008 Malibu 1LT - $20,955; 2008 Malibu 2LT - $22,635; and the well equipped 2008 Malibu LTZ with a starting price of $26,995.

will it hurt me engine?
have a 350 vortec engine boarded 30 over with a brand new crank cleaned rods flat top pistons aluminum corvette heads cut really low eldebrock intake 750 double pump carburetor 504 doug Herbert solid cam 2800 stall convertor Double rolling time chain msd distributor Electric fuel pump dual flowmaster exhaust ... no msd bow yet an i have did anything to rear end yet... its in a 78 chevy malibu... will it hurt this engine if i let it sit to next january??? that's when i plan on redoing the inside the car has about 700 miles on it already not a everyday driver
you really shouldn't let it sit that long, the gas will go bad and turn into sludge after roughly 3 weeks, tires will go flat or at least get real low, condensation will build up in the engine oil and exhaust, among other things, its ok if you don't drive it everyday but you need to at least crank it up and just drive it around the block for 20 minutes maybe every week or 2, you have a lot of money in it, shouldn't let it sit that long without being cranked, even if its garaged
1993 Chevrolet Lumina Z34 from North America - Comments
To the Z34 owners with the high idle problems. I had the same thing happen to my 93. I would check all your vacuum lines, not just the rubber lines, but the plastic tubing also. I had a cracked plastic line that drove me nuts until I found it.
