This is the ideal brewing pump built by March Manufacturing. This pump is constructed of food-grade material, handles wort at boiling temperature, and takes back pressure (flow restriction). The pump housing is made from polysulfone because it is a tough, food-grade plastic rated to temperatures as hot as 250F, well above boiling wort temperatures. It offers many of the benefits of the ideal material, stainless steel, without the prohibitive cost. The magnetic drive acts as a clutch allowing the user to put back pressure on the pump to slow down flow. Since it is magnetic drive, it is not self-priming, you must put the pump under the level of the liquid source. The pump is brewer friendly and includes a bracket so that it can be mounted and a 6' power cord with plug wired in for easy use. This is a tough little pump with a 1/25 hp, continuous-duty 1.4 Amp motor which can be run non-stop for extended periods. This pump has a maximum flow of 7.2 gpm with a maximum head of 12 feet. For an example of typical usage: with a head of 6' it will pump 3.25 gpm and with an 8' head it will pump 2.5 gpm. 1/2" mpt fittings on the outlet and 3/4" mpt inlet. Materials in contact with solution are Polysulfone, 316 stainless steel, silicon rubber, Raton and Teflon. Shaded pole, thermal overload protected, single phase motor is fan cooled. Will handle internal pressures to 150 psi. Max pressure the pump can produce in a closed system is a little over 5 psi. Face unscrews and rotates at 90 degree intervals to adjust to your application. To restrict flow place a ball valve on the out flow of this pump. The center inlet port allows for easy draining and cleaning of the pump. Side inlets cost slightly less, but will allow wort and water to sit in the bottom of the pump and mold overtime. The center inlet makes it easy to clean and use. This is why you see the center inlet port pumps in use at all professional breweries. |

Are you interested in more power for your car? If so then this article will show you a way to gain horsepower for a very reasonable expenditure. You may have heard of the term cold air intake or cold air intake but perhaps you were not sure what this really meant.
Your car engine produces power through the burning of oxygen and fuel in the combustion chambers. The ratio of the oxygen and fuel is carefully controlled by other devices in your car. One way to increase the power is to increase the amount of oxygen that the engine receives. If you can increase the oxygen in the cars system will increase the amount of fuel and you will generate more horsepower. Air contains oxygen and if you can get more air into the engine you will thereby increase the power output. Denser air will contain more oxygen and that's one of the keys to getting more horsepower with a cold air intake system.
When a manufacturer builds a car they are interested in many trade-offs. One of these is balancing the noise that is made by air entering the engine and the power that the engine will produce. By decreasing the noise they have also decreased the power. The car manufacture usually creates a restricted airflow path from the outside atmosphere into the engine.
A cold air intake system is designed with several things in mind. One of these is to put the inlet for the airflow as far away from the heat of the engine as possible. This is how a cold or cold air intake system received its name. By reducing the incoming air by 10 degrees you would receive a 1% increase in horsepower and torque. Typically a cold air intake system will have the inlet either behind the front bumper or in one of the wheel wells. Air in these locations is much cooler than the air inside the engine compartment, where a stock engine receives its air from.
The second design criteria for a cold or cool air system is to minimize the restrictions in the airflow to the engine. The tubes that conduct the air in these devices are designed with smooth interiors and gentle curves so that the airflow is not unnecessarily slowed down. Usually these systems while also contain a replacement air filter for the stock air filter that came with your car. This newer filter is also designed to minimize the restrictions of airflow in the stock filter will have.
So by increasing the density of the air and thereby the amount of oxygen it contains and minimizing the restrictions of airflow a cold air intake system will increase horsepower that you will receive. However, there is a down side. Your car will make a lot more noise than before.

New Power Tube Make-up Air System
Industrial Pressure Blower Co. designs different kinds of industrial and commercial air moving equipment. It developed a PT Power Tube Make-Up Air System - one of the most economical options for larger industrial plants ventilation air make up systems.
PT Air Make-Up fan system is a new ventilation concept. It utilizes some aerodynamic principles for supplying, tempering and distributing make-up air in a building in cold weather. It offers more efficiency, economy and comfort than most conventional make-up air units.
When exhaust fans are used to provide ventilation, both for industrial and process exhaust and personnel comfort, a negative air pressure is created within the building. This negative pressure causes several problems:
- Process exhaust systems are less efficient and may not work properly.
- Down flow can occur through gravity vents and result in the back venting of products of combustion from flues and stacks of heaters and process equipment.
- Drafts are created that are a dsicomfort to employees. Safe operating of outside doors may even be impaired.

PT Fan System consists of a specially designed air supply fan, a wall housing and a motorized air inlet damper. A long polyethylene tubing is attached to the unit and extends horizontally inside building supported from wire. It has precision holes punched on both sides at specific intervals along its length and has an opposed end closed off.
Each fan housing assembly is mounted in the outside wall opening or connected to a roof air supply fan.
In the winter, conventional make-up air systems have to heat the cold outside air prior to introduction into the building. This is an expensive process in both equipment and continuing energy cost. The Power Tube Fam Make-Up Air System is a simplier system that utilizes waste building heat and basic earodynamic principles for supplying, tempering and distributing make-up air. And that makes it less expensive than conventional make-up air systems to purchase, to install and to operate.
When make-up air is needed, the motorized inlet shutter opens, the supply fan turns on and supplied fresh outside air inflating the tube for its full length. The air discharges from the punched holes in the tube located overhead as small high velocity jets which create turbulent mixing with the warmer inside air. As a result the outside air is effectively tempered before it reaches the worker level, creating a uniform draft free make up air system.
Normally several PT Fan systems are required for a building, depending on the size of the building, volume of make-up air required, size of PT Fan models selected. Additional heating, if required, may be furnished from conventional type space unit heaters positioned near the distributing PT tubes.

* Very quiet, normally within 20 Fan Sones;
* Flexible in capacity, which is achieved by running only the required number of PT units based on the temperature inside the building;
* Provides a more comfortable eworking environment by maintaining gentle air flow and uniform temperature distribution.
Power Tube Make-Up Air Fans are available in Sizes 18 to 48 for for air flows up to 40,000 CFM.
PT Power Tube Make-Up Air System tube is constructed of thick woven high density polyethylene fiber(8 x
laminated with poly coating to a thickness of 6 Mils. It is 3.8 oz. per square yeard material. Burst strength is 118 Lbs per square inch. The material is flame retardant and complied with NFPA Standard 701. Tubes are available in two colors: blue and white. One end of the polyethylen tube is factory dealed.
Sufficient make-up air should be provided to balance exhaust from general ventilation and process ventilation. Usually several Power Tube Fans will be required, located to distribute air throughout the plant. If additional tempering of make-up air in specific plant areas becomes necessary, unit heaters can be added.
